At True North Prepping, we stand behind the gear we curate. We want to ensure that every piece of equipment you receive meets the rugged standards required for the Canadian wilderness. If your order isn't right, we are here to help.

1. 30-Day Return Window

You have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible, your item must be in the same condition that you received it: unworn, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

2. How to Start a Return

  • Note: Because we work with a global network of suppliers to keep our prices low, items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

3. Shipping Costs for Returns

  • Defective or Incorrect Items: If the return is due to our error (you received an incorrect or defective item), True North Prepping will cover the cost of return shipping or issue a full refund/replacement.

  • Change of Mind: For all other returns (buyer's remorse, wrong size, etc.), the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs to our designated warehouse.

4. Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon reception. Contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item. We require a photo of the damaged item to process a replacement or refund quickly.

5. Non-Returnable Items

Certain types of items cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons:

  • Perishable goods (such as emergency food rations).

  • Personal care goods (such as medical/first aid supplies if the seal is broken).

  • Custom products or personalized items.

  • Flash sales or "Final Sale" items.

6. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you if the refund was approved. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

7. Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
